95 2.8 shogun engine knock help

Hello everyone, can anyone help? My 2.8td shogun has all of a sudden started to knock between 1500-3000 rpm. I have tried retarding the pump, swaped the injectors and blocked the egr valve and run it without the air filter. Any suggestion would be greatly apreciated starting to give up on it now.

Is it using a lot of oil or any other symptoms going on with the knocking?

Hello cupcake, useing a little oil but not much though, lots of black smoke sometimes and lots of bluey white smoke sometimes and feeling lumpy, cold starting can be one heat or eight heats regardless of outside temp. Any ideas?

There are lots of things it could possibly be. Simplest one first - have you tried changing the glow plugs?

No have not tried heater plugs why? Thought heater plugs only came on to heat the cylinders to start engine from cold? And would not effect the running of engine once started.

hi everyone. my pajero is knocking at 1300-2500 rpm also i have tried moving pump and blocked egr valve off but made no difference to the knocking i have no oil leaks and im not using oil .it starts first time off the key and it drives great just that knocking please can someone help me

i would say injecter if its just between a certian rev range
