This may be of use to some members

Ever since i've had my truck i've had problems with my washers.Passenger side worked intermittently without much pressure and the drivers side has not realy worked at all until today.

I checked that the pump was ok by disconnecting some pipes and switching on.Pump was fine.

Borrowed some injector cleaning needles (been told that thin MIG wire would work) and cleaned out the jets and low and behold the passenger side washer was perfect but nothing from the drivers side.

On advice from Mike (Chastiser) disconnected the short pipe from the jet at the plastic coupling and tried blasting out the blockage with my 12v compressor and just succeeded in blowing the pipe off the jet down pipe

Re-connected the pipe and filled it with neat washer additive (obviously pipe kept at the vertical) and left it for 5 minutes.More air in short bursts and a load of black gunk and a thin trickle of fluid came out of the jets.

Disconnected from the down pipe again and found a piece of metal rod slightly smaller in diameter than the internal measurement of the the down pipe and used it as a plunger up the pipe. The result was a black substance almost like a heavy grease comming out of the jets like toothpaste out of a tube.

A couple more blasts of air, reconnect and everything worked as it should.

There has got to be an easier method than this,my problem was that I couldn't get the washer jet out from the bonnet.

I hope this may help someone who finds themselves in a similar situation

The gunge is wash additive, all congealed, needs the tank cleaning out, and run some warm to hot water through, many put to much in if it concentrated stuff
