Evening all
Sorry this aint 4x4 related but you maybe able to help! :) RIght - my 205 didnt have a radio when i bought it so i went out last week to buy a cheap cd/radio head unit! Got an ISO connection off eaby for a couple of quid - right the dilemma i ave is that the wires in the car are connected up to those junction connections - so i chopped one end off the iso connector leaving the iso end to connect to radio - however the colours on iso are totally different to ones in car - thinking it is really old colour coding. Also they dont have what they are written on it like on the iso - can anyone help?? Or shall i take a picture so you can see various wires??
Cheers, matt!

from experiance mate i would do this. working on the wires in the car......... make sure ignition is switched off. with you tester run through the wires one by one. look for a permenent +. by the looks of the way the cables are arranged you should have the speakers on one set of blocks and then your power on the other. ( not always the way though ). next turn on the ignition and look for another +. it will be a different one.
the permenent + conects to the memory on stereo.
the ignition + conects to main power on stereo.
the earth is quite a tricky one to find. the way i do it ( now it aint the best way ) is to conect my meter to ignition + and then with the earth tester i run along the rest of the cables until i get a good result. that is normally the earth
once you have got to this stage you can run along the other wires testing each on on the speaker terminals until you find out witch speaker is whitch. normaly works for me
hope that helps a little mate

cool mate....to find the +.....put the black lead on the door pin or something metal thats connected to the shell of the car. make sure its got a good contact. now with the red lead run across the wires until you find a 12v supply
not you being thick mate. all gotta start somewhere  do you have settings on your tester.....think you will have.

you want to connect it to the permenent + and then run through the wires until you see 12 v on you tester. it means you have found the earth as it has just made the circuit complete

im sure amps is the freqency of the current mate. ie how fast its traveling. is it just an amp meter you have there. if so turn it up to max. you are looking for the needle moving really. if you want give me a call....i will pm you my number

  well when you get the chance solder one wire to the bottom of the bulb and one to the side casing......you then have a good meter.......or try and find a volt meter mate.........
give me a shout when you are ready mate
