as most pajeros come from japan as you might know they sit in a lot of traffic over there plus sometimes they have been sitting in docks dealer forecourts ect the fuel system injector get a bit fouled up one good thing you can do for this is to use a decent fuel system cleaner run the tank down to about a 1/4 then add a fuel cleaner appropriate for you car run for a few miles then fill it up this will clean the system out while you drive and should help keep the emissions down and give you more mpg
