oil leak

hiya i am new to this i have just got a lwb pajero 2.5d, j reg and seems to be leaking oil from somewhere at the bottom of engine have been told the crankshalf seal is leaking is this a big job? thanks for any help

could be allsorts
usually leaks at the bell housing
could be halfmoon seal rocker cover gasket
oil filler cap
rturn pipe for alternator
oil feed to turbo pipe

before try to do this job........give the engine a good clean and then go on a short run, and then give it a good look over..... last one i came across that they thought it was the rear main oil seal turn out to be the rocker cover and oil had been running down the back of the engine.
