i think i am having the same problem with my pajero and as it has been getting down to minus 9/10 outside its bloody freezing to drive. the only advise i have gathered so far is to raise the front of the car ( ramps or jack) remove rad cap and run for about half an hour with all heater settings on full. i will try tomorrow. i have had many stats in it and flushed mine through and tried caustic soda to flush but still nothing. rear heater gets stighly warm but not great.

This is to both of you, a few morebits of info is required to help us to help you, model 2.5 2.8 or 3.0 litre, thats to say, deisel or petrol age and mileage would help too and wether or not you have changed the thermosat or rad cap lately, thanks.

could be worth changing the water pump if your not getting pressure in the system. the vanes corrode after a while and the pump performance drops off.

PLEASE HELP ME I AM SHIT SCARED OFF THE ENGINE FREEZING IF WE GET A COLD SNAP.
right it will not freeze if you got antifreeze in it airlock or not
i think you will find you need a new rad cap and then just run the engine giving it a bust down the road getting it hot......mite help having the heater turn to cold to start with and then opening it up as it starts to get warm.
i had one last week that did not want to bleed.....had to take it down the road....got back and it was sorted.

btw it dont mater what engine you have got all the heaters are the same A PIG TO BLEED. but at a guess is it a v6?

another thing to try, remove top hose from rad end only, and fill the engine directly through the hose until you cant get any more in, then connect it back up. one problem with a few rads we have had, fill it through the rad, and when the water is at the top of the filler neck, its not enough to let it through the top hose outlet.

right folks, i'm on a similar path, got car back today. half way home from southampton the heater just started blowing cold??? don't know how often its been run as me 1/4 of fuel has gone, but blokey took it home as he couldn't store at his yard, and i'm glad he did, bit to '' quiet'' back laney if you know what i mean.

rear gives a little heat, temp gauge went a bit higher than usual, but was pulling 70 up dual carriageway and she nevers goes far from home except on the plains

will try again later, and check for pressure, how?? do i take rad cap off and turn it over and let it guggle out ??

took cap of radiator, give it a rev, it gurggled out, so switched off replaced cap and i have heat again, so fingers crossed.

top that water up jason, you have an air lock and you could cook it.
