the best way to stop it is to buy a land rover or not to take it off road :lol: :lol:
seriously theres not a lot you can do apart from cleaning it after with a jet wash as it's the mud on the brushes that stops them working and theres not alot you can do to stop that.

someone in scotishland came up with a mod to mount a (transit i think ) alternator at the top of the engine
