My wife used the Paj for the school run and on the way back some donut in a Honda CRV went into the back of her at around 30mph.
His car....Write off
My Paj.....Very minor dent on the rear bumper and it has moved the end caps as well.
His insurance co Elephant were fantastic, they called me within 2 hrs and arranged for the car to go to a garage to be checked and we also made a settlement on the phone for my wifes loss of earnings as she had neck and back pain and is self employed.
Took the car to a garage in Enfield and the chap said they may write the car off as an uneconomical repair as it is a 1993 .They only use brand new parts from the main dealer and he said my car books at around 600 - 800 pound ???
I don't want it written off !
Anyone know how much a new bumper and end parts are, maybe brackets as well and they all have to be from Mitsubishi .
I can imagine their labour will be loads as well ?
Not happy

you can negotiate with them mate. i was told that with my bike. if you really dont want it written off you can come to an agreed price for repairs.

Stu..

My mate works for B&T motor salvage, their head office is just outside Hertford in Cole Green but I know for a fact
they have had 2 pajero's in their Dunmow parts and salvage place in the last couple of months...

You never know they might have the bits you want.

(I assume you would be able to have the vehicle back on the cheap and do it yourself)

Thanks for the replies.
At this stage I have decided that I am either going to get the insurance to repair the car or get as much money out of them as I possibly can, repair the car for a fraction of the price and have a holiday !

Update:

They have paid my wife £1500 compensation for loss of earnings and have just recieved a chq for the damage £475.00.
Found a brand new rear bumper on Flea bay £69 delivered.
Had someone else drive into the old girl (Pajero) 2 nights ago out side where I work In London.A hit and run just caught the front drivers side bull bar and pulled it out of shape.Still driveable but managed to get ALL the reg number of our cctv and have reported it to the local nick.Apparently takes about 28 days but buggered if I am going to let the git get away with it. I know its all going to be insured as it was a Perssimon homes truck and brand new...Now where is the travel agents number..hehe
