Well after a heavy frost this morning I noticed that I have a leak in the sunroof. I think I have seen on here a post about this already but dont know the outcome.

Where can I get another seal?
How easy are they to fit?
Whats the costs?

Cheers all

Tom

Hi Tom the first thing to do is put a carrier bag on your seat ....... protect your bottom
and use matic around the glass sealent

Im sure I have read somewhere that a metro seal fits, well two of them. But I cant remember which ones

If not try a windscreen company that fits sunroofs as well.

Try cleaning out the drain hole that should be in the gutter of the sun roof, i know these get blocked on some cars

Hi Guys,
This is going to take awhile!...he he

I have also had the Odd Drip in throu the Sunroof especially when really bad weather! I have been trying to get a Good Sunroof Seal for Months which Attaches to the Glass not the Body of the Vehicle? Althou I have Broken Lots of these pajero's/shoguns and the Seals were Knackerd or starting to Crack etc.

These are like Rocking Horse *hit especially in Ex Condition as I have found out! I have mate who Runs a Parts Department for Mitsubishi and Best Price to me Trade £137+Vat? So I thought No Chance wait till I get a Good 2nd Hand one.

A friend of mine phoned me this week and said he had one off newish Shogun in Mint Condition? So I travelled up there and Got the Seal and I Could have Kissed himat the time!...he he... But that was the Good News the Bad News was to come.....

When I took my SUNROOF out today 2 Sec Job? And Started to Take Cracked Seal off around the Glass, And then I fitted my New Seal before I fitted sunroof back in I wanted to check Drain Holes etc..........

What I discoverd was even thou the Sunroof Seal was cracking on my Old Rubber that wasn't the Problem! The Problem was where the Black PUSH UP AND DOWN MECH WHICH LIFTS SUNROOF UN/DOWN There are 4 SCREWS on Top And 4 SCREWS ON BOTTOM!....One of the Bottom Screw Holes had a Tiny Crack in It and that was letting Odd bit of Water in?

What I also Noticed was where the 4 BOTTOM SCREWS ARE WHICH ATTACHES SUNROOF MECH TO BODY! There is a Seal UNDER THE MECH and that Goes on them so I Sealed mine Up today!

So what I am trying to Say is im (WELL *ISSED OFF)....Waiting Months for new Sunroof Seal and then Finding out it wasn't that all along! Unreal Bad luck...he he

No all Jokes aside.......PLEASE TAKE YOUR SUNROOF OUT M8 BEFORE YOU BUY SUNROOF SEAL! AND CHECK SEAL UNDER MECH WHICH ATTACHES THE MECH TO THE BODY as it DRIPS through there onto the SCREW TURNING HANDLE INSIDE and Drips over the Edge!

Also check none of the Screw Holes has Cracked alittle like mine!.....lol

THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!........DONT ROUND THE SCREWS OFF AS THEY WILL BE VERY TIGHT AND SEIZED....SPRAY DUCK OIL/WD40 AND LEAVE 10 MINS THEN TRY!............LAST THING YOU WANT IS BREAKING A SCREW HEAD OFF...LMAO

Hope this Helps everybody who THOUGHT THEY HAD SAME PROBLEM AS ME!

Kind Regards Gareth.

Hi Thumper,
No Probs m8.

But what you will find after taking the Sunroof Off Completely is there is another Rubber Which Attaches to the Body of your vehicle take that off aswell or lift it up abit and you will see there is quite a lip under that Rubber so water wont just leak? Please check your Drain Holes are FREE from Leaves/*hit so the water doesn't mount up there!

Main thing is Check the Seal at Bottom of Sunroof Mech! You dont need to take it off as you can see quite clearly how god it is when sunroof out the way!

Also check the 8 Screw Holes holding Sunroof Mech together? 4 to Body 4 on Top as Maybe Hairline crack! As already mentioned!

Kind Regards.

Hi m8,
Not being rude but cannot see it properly there!...lol

Like I already said if you take that Sunroof off Completely you will proberly find your Problem then.

If you stand on your Side Steps if you have them or Take Sunroof Off and Put your Head through Sunroof hole, Look at the Mech which Pushes Sunroof Up & Down! At bottom of that Mech you will see a Seal these are Mostly Knackerd! If yours is ok then Check around where the Screws Tighten Mech as sometimes Crack the Plastic Fine Crack?

Like I said I thought it was my Sunroof Rubber but it Wasn't!.....It was the Problem with the Mech? Easy Fix thou>>>

Get yourself some Tiger Seal Clear or Black doesn't matter as nobody will look under Sunroof and climb ontop of your Pajero...he he...And Wet your Finger and Wipe a Thin line of Tiger Seal Right Around the Bottom of the Mech Which Attaches to Pajero Body. Also Wipe abit on the Plastic Mech where screws Tighten if there is a CRACK? Look Carefully to see if Fine Crack!

I have my Old Rubber in the Garage if yours is Completely Knackerd and you can have it for FREE if it helps you out ok as I thought we are all here to help Each Other!
I changed mine as it was starting to Crack alittle as I am a Very Fussy Bugger!...lmao

Kind Regards.
