I'm in the middle of doing a few minor repairs one of which is the turbo.
I've known for a little while - about 2 weeks that it was probmatic but not the extent. On taking it off it turns out that the bearing is shot with around an eigth of an inch (3mm) of play in it.
The thing is that play has set up enough vibration to take out:
2 exhaust systems
2 power steering hoses
1 power steering pump bracket
1 alternator - completely vibrated to bits!
Hopefully there is no more than that although half the engine bay is covered in power steering oil :roll:
Moral for everyone:
If you are getting vibrations at engine speeds of 2500+ (mine originally started at 3000 - 3200 revs) get your turbo checked out could save you some money and mess
